Guitar Backing Tracks? Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any good guitar backing track websites. I have which is a great site but all the songs on there are from real artists and songs.
Does anyone know of a site like this one that has backing tracks for Rock, classic Rock, blues ect. songs that aren't real songs. I am also looking for a site that could give me some backing tracks and tell me what key the song is in. I am to the point where i can usually i figure out what key it is in if it is in like Am or C or G or something. but sometimes i can't figure it out by myself.
Or a site that just tells me what key real songs are in.

Im sure you could play along with those, however, if youre looking for them to make your own music with, using loops is frowned upon in the music industry. It is seen as a lack of creativity. I just play along with loops to practice making melodies or to get inspiration for my own chord progressions.

All the guitar backing tracks that I see on the Internet have the vocal tracks eliminated as well. The thing is, I want the vocals to remain and only the guitar track to be eliminated. What software can I use (please dont suggest Cakewalk, it's such a headache)? Or is there a site that offers these certain backing tracks? Thanks ineeddonothing replied: "I honestly don't know how you could separate that out unless you already had a song in the format of separate tracks for vocals, guitar, etc. That would allow you to take out that specific track. How could a program know exactly which sounds to separate out otherwise?

Paul Hxyz replied: "Alternate suggestion: play along WITH the existing tracks. The ability to play a complementary melody line along with another guitar player is something that makes BOTH guitar players look better. I jam along with internet radio blues-rock and play right over the singing if I feel like it - there's no audience, so why not? I'm not offending anybody. Otherwise you will probably have to get multi-tracked software... good luck with that!"

I would suggest using parts of the song without the track to make an instrumental without the guitar, if possible, but of course, that might cut out the vocals too." I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to do, but it sounds like you want to add audio tracks to a midi file...
If that is what you want to do, its easily achievable, and you could get all the midi instruments sounding really good with some nice VST's.
Import the midi track into your cubase project (or any sequencer alike), Dissolve it, this will split all the parts into seperate tracks (this will vary depending on program). Apply better instrument sounds to each track from your VST bank.
Then you want to put an audio track on to record your vocals I think?
Thats quite easy. Just hit record on the audio track! Be sure you're using a decent mic + mic preamps if you want to get a really nice sound.
EQ, Compress, Noise Gate and other effects are also useful in gettin a nice mic sound.
You should also check out some reverb effects that come with a good sequencing program.
